Newport News, Va., Aug 10, 2006 – UAV Communications (UAV Comm), Inc. provider of technology and strategic consulting services and solutions to federal government organizations, announced today that it has been awarded a $3M contract with the California Air National Guard (CA ANG).  UAV Comm will provide UAV Subject Matter Expertise, System Administration, Information Assurance and Communications support to stand up the Predator Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Operations Cell (POC) at March Air Reserve Base, CA.  UAV Comm President and CEO, Robert “Bob” Fitzgerald made the announcement today.

“As part of ongoing Future Total Force initiatives, the Air Force, the National Guard Bureau and the Adjutant General have decided that the CA ANG’s 163rd Air Refueling Wing, March Air Reserve Base, CA, will become the home for a new MQ-1 Predator Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) unit,” said Mr. Fitzgerald.

As the Air Force evolves, this important transformational mission converts the 163rd Air Refueling Wing to the 163rd Wing, and represents another example of the Air National Guard leveraging the unique talents of its units and Airmen to provide support to global operations with its Total Force partners – the Air Force and Air Force Reserve.
