UAV Comm awarded a contract to support the Joint Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center of Excellence (JUAS COE)
Newport News, VA December 20, 2006 — UAV Communications(UAV Comm) announced today, as a core member of the Navigator Development Group Inc Team, it was awarded a contract to support the Joint Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center of Excellence,” (JUAS COE).
UAV Comm, will provide personnel staffing support for Spectrum Management Engineering, Acquisition and Life Cycle Engineering, Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME), and Airspace Management SME.
The mission of the Joint UAS Center of Excellence is to improve interoperability among various systems and to facilitate the development of common operating standards, capabilities, Joint CONOPs, and training necessary to support the warfighters.
The JUAV COE is operationally focused on UAV technology, concepts, training, tactics, and procedural solutions to meet the warfighter’s needs.
It will leverage multi-service experience and expertise as an open forum for UAVs. It will be virtually networked with all the Services’ UAV Centers of Excellence.
The JUAS COE will create, test, and validate joint doctrine, tactics techniques and procedures and joint operational architectures.
The Air Force UAV Battlelab will complement the JUAV COE working to provide a common structure for UAV command and control systems among the various systems and develop the common operating standards, requirements, concept of operations, and training necessary to provide the joint warfighters the information they need.
The Joint UAV COE is located at Creech AFB, NV.
