UAV Communications Exhibited at the 2008 APCO tradeshow in Kansas City, Missouri August 4-6
Newport News, Va.— UAV Communications, Inc. (UAV Comm) exhibited at the 2008 APCO tradeshow in Kansas City, Missouri August 4-6. UAV Comm employees, Cutt Hawes, Julie Johnson, and Matt Twiggs exhibited the show.
This years APCO tradeshow focused on the public safety market. UAV Comm believes the public safety business sector is an area that would greatly benefit from UAV services consisting of Unmanned System Operations Center (USOC), Command, Control, Communications, Computer (C4) Systems Support, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems Support, Flight Support, and Special Operations Forces (SOF).
Mr. Hawes, Ms. Johnson, and Mr. Twiggs spoke to customers about how UAV Comm services can provide “that added value” to their public safety division for situational awareness at a greatly reduced price when compared to flying a helicopter. Fire department staff, 9-1-1 dispatchers, and police department staff gained a better understanding on how they can use UAV’s as a search and rescue supplemental tool in addition to currently used manned areial vehicles.
As a result of attending the APCO tradeshow, Public Safety Officials (Police, Fire, Emergency Operations) personnel have learned about another tool that can greatly enhance their citizen support.
